Tottenham’s COVID-19 outbreak
Tottenham were the first Premier League team this season to suffer with a serious COVID-19 outbreak, with news breaking last Monday about positive cases on Hotspur way.
This saw the north London outfit postpone their final, and must-win, clash with Stade Rennes, which is now set to be sent to a tribunal rather than played at another date. It is a set of events that, in all likelihood, drop Tottenham out of the Europa Conference League, but a decision that put the health of their staff above progression in the competition.
Their Premier League tie against Brighton was also postponed, meaning that Antonio Conte’s side have now played two games fewer than those around them, after their trip to Burnley was called off due to snowy weather.
Tottenham are set to ask the Premier League to postpone Sunday’s game vs. Brighton due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

However, they could be back in action soon.
Looking up for Leicester City
Now, as per Alasdair Gold, Spurs may be able to fulfill their upcoming game against Leicester City, which was previously in doubt. However, a press conference has been scheduled, and football.london report that some players are beginning to return to training.
Hopefully looking good for Tottenham’s match at Leicester. Antonio Conte’s press conference is set for tomorrow afternoon at 1.30pm and I understand some players have started to return to training following their isolation periods.

It is unclear just how many of the eight senior players that tested positive have returned to training, but it would certainly be in Tottenham’s best interests not to fall any further behind their rivals in what is already shaping up to be a very hectic season.
Can they get enough preparation to beat a Leicester side on the up?
