Arsenal bounce back

Arsenal have well and truly bounced back from their recent shock loss to Everton.

The Gunners hammered Southampton last weekend, playing some of their best-ever football under Mikel Arteta.

They then took on West Ham on Wednesday. With David Moyes and co. one of Arsenal’s rivals for European football this term, a win was very much needed by the north Londoners.

And this proved exactly what they managed thanks to strikes from Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli.

Granit Xhaka outlines how Arsenal can clinch top-four spot

This result guided Arsenal up to 4th in the Premier League table, one point above West Ham.

However, the recent postponements in the English top-flight may have given some Gunners fans a false sense of achievement.

This is because both Tottenham and Manchester United would overtake Arsenal at present, if they win their games in hand (Spurs only need to win two of three).

So, whilst it is certainly a step in the right direction, Arsenal still need to improve further if they hope to actually secure that fourth spot.

And now, Granit Xhaka has outlined what he feels he and his teammates must do to achieve this goal, explaining:

“We are looking much better at home, but if you want to be in the top four you have to win and you have to take points away as well.

“Hopefully, this starts on Saturday at Leeds. We have to improve away, we have to be more clever, more solid.

“We can’t play every time the same game at home and away, we have to be more clever and this starts from the experienced players to the young guys.”
