Tottenham vs Liverpool

Sunday’s late Premier League kick-off will see Tottenham and Liverpool face off in north London.

Liverpool head into the game on a fine run of form which has seen them lose just one game all season.

The Reds notched a perfect record in their Champions League group, with their one defeat this campaign having come in the PL, at West Ham.

Elsewhere, they have won 12, drawn four, scored 45 and conceded just 12.

However, the Merseysiders are still only second in the English top-flight for the time being.

This comes with Manchester City one point ahead of the Reds with the same number of games played.

As a result, Liverpool need a win this weekend to ensure that they keep pace with the current league leaders, and also hold 3rd placed Chelsea at bay.

Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool’s Covid-19 situation

Ahead of the Tottenham tie, Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media on Friday afternoon.

When doing so, the German discussed the Covid-19 situation at the club. Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones all missed out for Liverpool vs Southampton earlier this week, after testing positive for the virus.

In turn, on Friday, Klopp provided a fresh update on his side, confirming that no-one else has returned a positive test as of yet, with the aforementioned trio still awaiting their PCR results:

“It’s not confirmed yet [whether they have COVID]. It’s an ongoing process [awaiting the results of PCR]. They are fine apart from that. In this moment, nobody else positive. The players come later. We will see.”
