West Ham United’s supporters have taken to social media in numbers on Friday, to send a message to the club’s board pertaining to Everton star Lucas Digne.

Mykolenko in/Digne out?

The name of left-back Digne has of course taken its place centre stage in the English football headlines over the course of the last week.

This comes on the back of a falling out between the former Barcelona man and Everton boss Rafael Benitez, culminating in Digne being dropped from the club’s matchday setup for their last two outings.

And, if the latest efforts of those in a position of power at Goodison Park ahead of the January transfer window are anything to go by, then it appears that Digne’s exclusion may yet prove to be far from temporary.

As confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Toffees have already swooped to secure reinforcements on the left of the club’s back-4.

Ukrainian international Vitaliy Mykolenko is understood to have undergone a medical on Merseyside earlier today, ahead of a big-money winter arrival from Dynamo Kyiv:

‘Sign Digne!’

Mykolenko’s imminent arrival, in turn, has since only culminated in the speculation surrounding Digne’s future (or lack thereof) at Goodison Park kicking up another notch.

A whole host of potential destinations have been touted for the 28-year-old, amid the widespread agreement that, in all likelihood, Digne has already played out his final appearance in Everton’s colours.

One set of supporters who appear particularly keen on their side taking advantage of the situation, meanwhile, are those of a West Ham persuasion.

Taking to social media on Friday evening, droves of Hammers fans have called for the brass at the London Stadium to sanction a January swoop, to reinforce what has evidently been identified as an area of weakness in the club’s squad:
