Chelsea 1-Everton 1

Chelsea welcomed Everton to Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening, looking to bounce back from a poor run of form.

Thomas Tuchel’s side had been conceding goals for fun for several weeks, struggling to see off beatable opposition and looking well off their early-season pace.

This had allowed both Liverpool and Manchester City to overtake the Blues in the Premier League table.

In turn, with Man City having already won this gameweek and Liverpool facing a struggling Newcastle around the same time as Chelsea’s game, the Londoners would have been well aware that nothing but a win would do against Everton.

However, when all was said and done, Chelsea had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Mason Mount did fire the hosts into the lead on the day:

But Jarrad Branthwaite pulled Everton level with around 15 minutes to go, and that is how the tie finished.

Why Jorginho yelled at Loftus-Cheek

Chelsea are now four points off top spot despite having been Premier League leaders just a few weeks ago.

As a result, frustrations are no doubt high in west London as present, with one man’s anger having boiled over on the pitch vs Everton.

The player in question? Jorginho, who seemed to vent his frustrations at Ruben Loftus-Cheek during the tie.

As per football.london, the Italian was left fuming with RLC after the Englishman gave the ball away cheaply with a misplaced pass, allowing Everton to counter, and forcing Jorginho to bring down Anthony Gordon for a yellow card.

This prompted Jorginho to immediately ‘give an earful’ to his midfield partner.
