The Barcelona faithful have taken to social media in their droves on Saturday evening, to send a crystal clear message to those in a position of power at the club.
Nico makes the difference
Barca, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
On the back of a 3-game winless streak, Xavi and co. welcomed struggling Elche to the Camp Nou, eyeing a much-needed bounce-back result.
And, when all was said and done, this is exactly what the Blaugrana managed… just.
After taking a two-goal lead into the interval courtesy of strikes from Ferran Jutgla and the following solo special from Gavi, Barcelona appeared well on their way to a comfortable three points.
That is SPECIAL from Gavi!

As the Catalans so often do, though, they soon made things needlessly difficult for themselves, handing Elche a lifeline just past the hour mark, before Pere Milla’s header just a minute later set the stage for a thrilling final half hour.

Then, just when time appeared to be running out for the shell-shocked hosts, Nico, teed up courtesy of more fine work on the part of Gavi, killed Elche off once and for all courtesy of a fine right-footed finish:

‘Has to go’
As outlined above, however, despite their side ultimately getting over the line this evening, it shouldn’t come as all that much of a surprise to hear of the Barcelona faithful being far from impressed with the nature of the eventual result at the Camp Nou.
A whole host of players, in turn, have been singled out for criticism post-match, not least defenders Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet.
It is the man behind the club’s backline, though, who has been subjected to more widespread backlash on the part of Barcelona’s supporters than any other.
As showcased below, after not exactly covering himself in glory in allowing Elche to pull level this evening, calls have mounted for German shot-stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen to be moved on, potentially as early as January:
Please sell ter stegen @FCBarcelona

Ter Stegen is finished.. Guy can’t stop shots any more. Barcelona needs to sell him and get a world class goal keeper #BarcaElche

Get ter stegen out of this club asap

ter Stegen HAS to go. We would’ve been in the top 4 right now with an actual keeper in goal.

Ter stegen needs to be sold come January.
