FC Barcelona’s meeting with Elche this evening has seen two of the club’s up-and-coming talents firmly steal the headlines.

Xavi Hernandez’s troops are of course locked in action at present.

In the club’s latest La Liga outing, Barca welcomed relegation-threatened Elche to the Camp Nou, eyeing a bounce-back result on the back of a trio of successive outings without victory.

And, as things stand in the Catalan capital, the Blaugrana appear well on their way to precisely that.

A much-improved display thus far sees Xavi and co. leading by two goals to nil, owing to strikes on the part of two of the club’s latest crop of up-and-coming young talent.

First up came Ferran Jutgla.

After being handed his first La Liga appearance for Barcelona in a meeting with Osasuna last weekend, 22-year-old Jutgla, rewarded with a start this time out, repaid the faith of his boss inside 15 minutes of action.

A whipped corner from the left saw the midfielder rise highest in the Elche box, to pick out the far corner courtesy of a deft header:

Just minutes later, Gavi, quickly establishing himself as one of world football’s most highly-regarded young talents, completely stole the show.

After rolling his man in midfield, the gifted 17-year-old danced beyond a 2nd Elche defender, before slotting home from the edge of the area, to cap off a wonderful individual effort:
