The Premier League have reached a decision regarding a potential postponement this month.
Premier League hit hard by Covid-19
The English top-flight has been hit very hard by the surge in Covid-19 cases currently sweeping across the UK.
This past Saturday, for example, saw just one of the six scheduled fixtures take place.
Three of four went ahead on Sunday, but every club, barring Manchester City, had at least one covid case, with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel letting his thoughts on the situation be known after the Blues’ stalemate with Wolves which saw Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell all out with the virus.
“It is not safe: We talk about protecting players and a safe environment but it is not safe. I would be not surprised if the next test shows up and we have more positives.
“How should it stop if we sit in the bus and have dinners and just stay together like nothing happened?”

Following a pretty disastrous weekend all 20 Premier League clubs met on Monday to discuss a potential postponement.

However, as revealed by The Athletic on Monday afternoon:
The majority of Premier League clubs want to continue playing throughout the festive period despite a spate of recent postponements due to COVID-19 outbreaks.

But, it is reported elsewhere that disruption could instead come in January.
