Chelsea into the semi-final of the Carabao Cup

It wasn’t pretty, but a much-changed Chelsea found their way past a plucky Brentford side to book their place in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, joining Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City in the final four.

After a first half where they went in goalless, thanks largely to some heroics from Kepa, Thomas Tuchel began deploying his senior players, who ultimately took the game away from the Bees in the final quarter of the game.

First, Pontus Jansson turned past his own goalkeeper from a Trevoh Chalobah cross, before a Jorginho penalty put the game and result beyond doubt, and saw Chelsea into the next round.

All was not well among the Blues faithful, however.

Barkley hung out to dry

In what was a largely uneventful second half until the 70th minute, Chelsea fans sharpened their knives for one player in particular. The player in question? Ross Barkley.

The Englishman felt the fury of the Chelsea faithful as they took to Twitter in their droves to discuss his performance, and not in a positive light.

Does Barkley have a Chelsea future?
