Dusan Vlahovic tearing up Serie A

Dusan Vlahovic is seemingly the next taxi off the rank when it comes to star strikers.

The Fiorentina man, still just 21 years old, netted 21 times last campaign, and has proved it was no fluke, scoring 16 in 20 Serie A appearances so far this season.

In doing so, he matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s Serie A record for most goals in a calendar year in Italy, netting a total of 36 goals across 2021.

As a result, he has a host of clubs chasing his signature, having confirmed that he will be leaving Fiorentina before or when his contract expires in 2023. Two of the most high-profile clubs to have shown interest are Juventus and Arsenal, who also locked horns in the summer over Manuel Locatelli.

Juve won that particular battle, but have they just handed Arsenal this one?

Juve turn attentions to Scamacca

Now, according to reports in Italy, Juve may have just handed Arsenal a lifeline in their chase for Dusan Vlahovic. The Old Lady were thought to be interesting in signing the La Viola marksman, but have since turned their attentions to another flying forward in the Serie A, Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca.

The 6 foot 5 striker is reportedly the club’s main target for the January transfer window, as per Gazzetta Della sport, with Juve looking to repeat their Manuel Locatelli trick and sign him on a two year loan deal with an obligation to purchase the Italian.

Should they prove successful, it would mark a destination now closed to Vlahovic. And, with Fiorentina likley desperate to sell in the coming window to generate as much money as possible on his running down contract, could this force the Serbian to reconsider Arsenal?
