Liverpool chase Luis Diaz

Firstly, Liverpool’s need for a winger is clear, with both Mo Salah and Sadio Mane jetting off to the Africa Cup of Nations next week.

And one man they have been linked with all season is FC Porto’s Luis Diaz. The Colombian wide man has 14 goals and 3 assists to his name this season, and as per Football365, the Reds are “desperate” to add him to their squad this January.

However, they do claim that any deal would set them back a hefty 80 million euros, while a summer deal could see Porto accept as little as 60 million euros instead.

With a host of other clubs also interested, will Liverpool be able to pull off the move?

Chelsea join Reds in Raphinha hunt

Another alternative wide man is Leeds United’s Raphinha.

The Brazilian has shone in a heavily depleted and underperforming Leeds side, attracting interest from several top clubs, including Bayern Munich.

However, now Chelsea have also joined Liverpool in the race for the Brazilian’s services, according to the Express.

They reveal that:

Chelsea are ready to battle Liverpool for the signing of Raphinha in the transfer window – but only in the summer.

Can Liverpool get a headstart and prixe him out of Yorkshire in January?

Jose Enrique urges Nat Phillips to make Newcastle move

One man expected to depart the club in January is defender Nat Phillips, with several Premier League clubs on red alert.

However, former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique believes that Newcastle, another of his former clubs, would be the perfect destination for the English centre-back.

Taking to Instagram, the former Liverpool defender wrote:

“Nathaniel Phillips is expected to leave the club in January. Should Liverpool sell Phillips?

“For me, to be honest, I believe if we get a good price for him maybe is the best option for him and for us. And, a club that I can see him doing very well for and they need a centre back very urgent is my ex-team Newcastle.

“What you think? Newcastle and LFC fans. I believe both parties will win there.”
