An insight into the stance of transfer-linked Barcelona defender Sergino Dest regarding a potential January departure from the club has been provided.

Barca hard at work

American international Dest is of course just one of a whole host of players to have been tipped for a Camp Nou departure following the turn of the year.

This comes as the latest instillation on the Blaugrana bench, Xavi Hernandez, sets about building the kind of squad capable of reestablishing his beloved club back at the top of the European football pyramid.

The likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Samuel Umtiti and even star midfielder Frenkie de Jong have all been named as potential avenues towards raising much-needed funds for fresh additions to Barca’s personnel ranks.

It has even been suggested that the arrival of the big-money Ferran Torres could be offset by as many as five departures from Xavi’s squad.

Dest’s stance

And, as alluded to above, on Thursday evening, an insight into the stance of one such player – in the form of the aforementioned Dest – when it comes to the possibility of cutting short his Barca adventure, has been provided.

The info comes by way of Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, who have confirmed that no fewer than four Champions League clubs – including both Chelsea and Bayern Munich – have made their interest in Dest’s signature known.

The Blaugrana themselves, meanwhile, are understood to be open to the possibility of a sale.

Any such move, however, now appears altogether unlikely to actually come to fruition, in January at least.

This comes with Dest having informed Xavi and co. that he has no intention of moving on, instead intent on earning the faith of his new head coach, to establish himself as a central figure in the Barcelona project moving forward.
