A banner hung outside the San Siro in Milan this evening has made clear the feelings of at least one set of Inter fans, when it comes to the potential return of Romelu Lukaku.

‘Not happy’

The subject of Chelsea hitman Lukaku’s future has of course been cast back into the spotlight over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes after the Belgian, just months on from securing a return to west London, dropped something of a bombshell during an interview with Sky Sports in Italy.

Though it must be noted that the comments in question are understood to have been made around three weeks ago, the fact remains that Lukaku openly admitted to the fact that he is ‘not happy’ with how his debut season back in the English capital has developed thus far:

Adding further fuel to the fire, meanwhile, was the ex-Manchester United man’s admission that, in the not-so-distant future, he hopes to secure a return to Italy, with the aforementioned Inter Milan.

Not only that, but Lukaku was keen to issue a public apology to the Nerazzurri faithful, evidently still hurt over the manner in which his summer transfer came to fruition:

‘Bye’

And now, as alluded to above, the Inter faithful themselves have sent a crystal clear response to their one-time hitman.

The news, however, is likely some way off what ‘Big Rom’ would have been hoping for.

A short time ago, a banner was unveiled outside the San Siro, featuring a lengthy and direct message, written in Italian.

The banner in question was addressed directly to Lukaku, confirming that, when it comes to one section of the Inter fanbase at least, they have no desire to see the Chelsea star back in Nerazzurri colours before his career comes to a close:

“It doesn’t matter who runs away in the rain. It counts who stays in the storm! Bye, Romelu.”
