Chelsea’s Famed Cobham Academy

Alongside Barcelona’s La Masia and Arsenal’s Hale End academies, Chelsea’s very own Cobham youth facilities are the best in the business.

The Blues have already benefitted from seeing Trevoh Chalobah, Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Mason Mount and Calum Hudson-Odoi come through it in the last 2 years, while more are on the way, with Harvey Vale and Levi Colwill already highly thought of in the senior set up.

Meanwhile, Valentino Livramento has been impressing after his move away from the club, with the now Southampton man showing just why he was captain of the Blues’ under 23 side last campaign. He is not alone either, with loanee Armando Broja also showing flashes of brilliance at St Mary’s while on loan for the season.

But, it is another one of the Chelsea loanees that is catching the eye, by no less than French giants Paris Saint Germain.

Conor Gallagher in PSG crosshairs

Now, Paris Saint Germain are showing interest in on-loan Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, who has risen to prominence while plying his trade for Crystal Palace this season.

As per the Sun:

“The French giants believe Chelsea would be willing to sell Gallagher.”

But it would cost them a hefty amount, with a 50 million pound fee being mooted.

Things get complicated further by the loan move, which means that Chelsea can no longer recall Gallagher:

“A January swoop is made more complicated by Palace’s season-long deal with the 21-year-old. It is understood the Blues cannot recall Gallagher because he has played more than the agreed percentage of Palace’s matches.”

However, Pochettino and co. could well wait for the summer as they plot a way to revitalise an ageing midfield at the Parc de Princes. On the other hand, why would Chelsea sell another academy graduate who clearly loves the club and is excelling in the English top flight at present?
