Chelsea vs Liverpool

Liverpool and Chelsea would face off at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

Both sides headed into the game really needing a win to keep their respective title hopes alive.

In the end, though, the points were shared – a result which is unlikely to have pleased either outfit.

Liverpool would take a two-goal lead in the game via Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah strikes.

However, a stunning Mateo Kovacic goal and a Christian Pulisic effort ensured that Chelsea earned a draw on the day.

Virgil van Dijk’s Premier League title admission

Following the game, Chelsea have stayed 2nd in the Premier League, 10 points off Manchester City win no games in hand.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are 11 points off top spot with one game in hand.

Such a deficit is going to be pretty hard for either outfit to overturn as Manchester City are in superb form of late.

And now, when speaking after the Chelsea draw, Virgil van Dijk admitted that it is Manchester City’s title to lose at the moment:

“It’s never difficult to believe.

“It’s a big gap. They’ve got the title to lose at the moment, but anything can happen still.

“Unfortunately we’ve been there and we had a gap out in front, and we gave it away.

“Anything is possible. We will focus on ourselves, Chelsea will focus on themselves. We just have to get results. Get results, play good football, win games.”
