Wolves look to sell

Wolves are looking to strengthen their side this January, but are being seriously hamstrung by finances.

As per John Percy of The Telegraph, Bruno Lage wants to add three players to his squad that has at times looked thin in places, but that nonetheless currently sits in the top half of the Premier League table at half distance.

However, there will be no funds to strengthen provided by the wealthy owners, with any additions having to be funded by sales and other inventive ways to raise cash.

That’s where Adama Traore comes in.

Tottenham and West Ham set to do battle for Traore

Behind perhaps Ruben Neves and Pedro Neto, Adama Traore is the most valuable player on the books at Wolves.

However, he is also out of contract in the summer of 2023, meaning that he could in theory depart for free in 18 months. While negotiations have reportedly been ongoing for a year, no agreement has been reached, and this has led to Wolves considering his sale.

Tottenham were interested while under the tutelage of former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, having two offers rejected in the summer according to the Telegraph.

But now, with Traore’s value plummeting, they are set to face competition for the forward from London rivals West Ham, who are desperately seeking additions as they look to keep their good form going across both the Premier League and Europa League.

Will one of the London clubs be adding Adama to their squad before the end of January?
