Carlo Ancelotti has recently been quizzed on Real Madrid’s January transfer window, including potentially signing Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid & Mbappe

As has been well documented to this point, Real Madrid want to sign PSG star, Kylian Mbappe.

Los Blancos love a galactico signing, and nobody would epitomise that more currently than Mbappe.

Real Madrid would, as was covered by most major outlets, make a pretty huge bid for Mbappe in the summer transfer window:

£160m is, of course, not too huge of a fee given what a player Mbappe already is/will become.

But it was pretty high given that, at the time, Mbappe had just one year left on his PSG contract.

Now, six months later, Mbappe still has not signed a new deal and is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.

Real Madrid set to keep all their players?

But, as Madrid were willing to pay such a high fee in the summer, could they come back in with another offer in January?

At the moment, that seems unlikely for a number of reasons.

Firstly, Mbappe recently claimed he will finish the campaign with PSG:

“I’m in Paris Saint-Germain, I’m really happy and I will 100% finish the season as PSG player. I’ll give everything to win with Paris all titles this year.”

Now, in a recent press conference, Carlo Ancelotti was quizzed on Madrid signing Mbappe in January but looked to dismiss the claim:

“Talking about players who are not here does not seem fair to me. Branchini is a friend and I am not going to comment on anything.”

The Italian was then quizzed on potential January departures from Real, but suggested that nobody would leave:

“We don’t have that idea. The management of the squad is quite good. Everyone is training well and I don’t think there will be any exits.”
