Reports stemming from Spain have linked Premier League outfit, Liverpool, with Villarreal star, Arnaut Danjuma.

Danjuma’s Villarreal stint

Danjuma is likely most remembered by English football fans for his stint with AFC Bournemouth.

Danjuma joined Bournemouth in 2019 from Club Brugge. The winger was unable to help the Cherries avoid relegation, but would shine for them in the Championship last season.

In 33 league games last term, he scored 15 and assisted a further seven as Bournemouth narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

However, after missing out on promotion, Bournemouth opted to sell the winger to the current Europa League holders, Villareal.

The 24-year-old has since scored nine and assisted three in 18 outings across all competitions for the Yellow Submarine.

Liverpool to bid for Danjuma

Previously, Premier League outfit Liverpool had been linked with a move for Danjuma.

Given his current form, coupled with Liverpool’s need to strengthen their depth up top, a move for the Dutchman would seemingly make a fair bit of sense for Jurgen Klopp and co.

Now, reports coming out of Spain suggest that Liverpool are set to act on their interest in the Villarreal star.

As per Goal citing Spanish outlet Fichajes:

Liverpool have prepared a January bid for Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma

It is added that Liverpool hope to convince the Yellow Submarine to let him go with an offer of €45 million.

Given that Unai Emery’s side are now down in 8th in La Liga and look unlikely to earn Champions League football next term, could Danjuma be tempted into leaving a club he has only recently joined?
