News has emerged on Tuesday evening that Liverpool have requested their game with Arsenal later this week be postponed.
Arsenal vs Liverpool
Liverpool and Arsenal are due to face off in a League Cup semi-final clash on Thursday.
It is the first of two ties, with this match expected to take place at the Emirates and the second at Anfield the following week.
Jurgen Klopp has not put much stock into the English domestic cups since his arrival from Germany, but fans are no doubt eager to see their side add another trophy to their already huge collection.
However, news emerged earlier on Tuesday that the game was in doubt.
This was, as per The Athletic, due to further covid cases and injury in Klopp’s squad.
Liverpool’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against #AFC is in doubt due to further positive COVID-19 tests in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
The Athletic understands that #LFC‘s training session at 4pm has been cancelled.

Liverpool request Arsenal game be postponed
All of Klopp, Roberto Firmino, Alisson and Joel Matip missed Liverpool’s draw with Chelsea over the weekend.
And now, the Reds have lost Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita for the AFCON.
So, it is not too surprising to see it confirmed on Tuesday evening that Liverpool have requested their meeting with Arsenal be postponed:
Liverpool confirm in a statement they’ve formally requested that Thursday’s EFL Cup semi-final, first leg at Arsenal is postponed due to Covid-19, illness & injury. First-team training today was cancelled. EFL now have to decide what happens next.
