Rafael Yuste, Vice President at Spanish giants FC Barcelona, has this evening provided an update on the club’s efforts to register Ferran Torres for action.
Torres secured
The subject of transfers has of course taken its place front and centre when it comes to developments at the Camp Nou over recent weeks.
This comes as new boss Xavi Hernandez is finally afforded his first opportunity to put a personal stamp on the playing squad in the Catalan capital, by means of the January transfer window.
A whole host of Blaugrana stars have been tipped for exits, including the likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Samuel Umtiti and even star midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
On the incomings front, meanwhile, the headline news has, of course, come in the form of the big-money arrival of Manchester City talent Ferran Torres:

Coutinho not enough
Despite his signing having now been made official a full two weeks ago, however, Torres is yet to make his Barcelona bow.
This comes owing to a pair of factors, first a bout of Covid-19, but, even more significantly, the fact that the versatile wide-man is yet to be registered for La Liga action.
The Blaugrana, to this point, have been unable to make their latest addition available to boss Xavi, owing to the club’s bloated wage bill.
It was hoped that the loan departure of Philippe Coutinho to Aston Villa, made official on Friday, would open up the sufficient space required to add Torres’ salary to their books, but, evidently, this has not proven the case.
Speaking to the press ahead of the club’s La Liga meeting with Granada this evening, Barca Vice President Rafa Yuste was drawn on Torres’ situation.
And the Blaugrana chief went on to confirm that further sales will be needed before the Spanish international can be registered, with all at the club hard at work to assure that the process is finalised ‘as soon as possible’:
Rafa Yuste sobre la inscripción de Ferran Torres tras la salida de Coutinho:
“Hacen falta más salidas. Estamos trabajando y, en este caso, los profesionales del club para que esto se haga en un plazo lo más breve posible”.#LaCasaDelFútbol pic.twitter.com/VbZZ4liJBs
