Real Madrid talisman Karim Benzema has, late on Saturday night, joined the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Raul in an exclusive Blancos club.

Vinicius amongst the goals

Carlo Ancelotti’s men are of course currently locked in action.

Amid their efforts to maintain the club’s healthy advantage at the La Liga summit, the capital giants welcomed Jose Bordalas’ Valencia to the Bernabeu, for a highly-anticipated showdown.

And, as things stand, all three points is precisely what the evening’s hosts are headed towards.

The game’s scoring was opened just shy of the interval, when a controversial spot-kick secured by Casemiro was dispatched in ruthless fashion by Karim Benzema:

Vinicius Jr., meanwhile, has since doubled Real’s advantage, to send Ancelotti and co. well on their way to a 15th win of the La Liga campaign.

Benz’s special moment

As alluded to above, though, the two goals (or more specifically, the first) netted by Los Blancos this evening have not only proven significant in potentially guiding the club a full eight points clear at the top of the Spanish top-flight.

This comes with Karim Benzema’s opener having also seen the French icon etch his name ever further into the storied history books of Real.

As confirmed in the aftermath of his penalty finding the roof of the net, ‘Benz’ has now notched a whopping 300 goals in the colours of Los Merengues.

The 34-year-old, in turn, has joined an exclusive club at the Bernabeu, as only the 4th player to hit the 300 mark.

The others before him? Alfredo di Stefano (308), Raul Gonzalez (323) and long-time partner in crime Cristiano Ronaldo (450).
