The Aston Villa faithful will no doubt be in jubilant mood on Sunday evening, owing to the latest word surrounding the club’s efforts on the transfer front.
Coutinho en route
The endeavours of Premier League outfit Villa on the back of the opening of the winter transfer window have of course taken their place front and centre in the headlines this week.
This comes after the Claret and Blue shocked the masses in pushing a deal over the line for Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho.
As confirmed in a post across the club’s social media platforms on Friday, Brazilian international Coutinho has made the move to Villa Park on loan for the remainder of the campaign, with a view to a potentially permanent deal in the summer:

Digne incoming
The exciting news for all associated with Villa, however, does not end there.
This comes with the latest word stemming from the media late on Sunday having confirmed that Steven Gerrard and co. are also closing on a 2nd capture of the January window.
The next player incoming? Lucas Digne.
As per Rob Dorsett of Sky News, Everton stopper Digne, known to want out of Goodison Park on the back of a falling out with boss Rafael Benitez, is inching towards a move to Villa Park.
Negotiations between the two clubs are at an ‘advanced’ stage, with a deal worth £20 – 25 million understood to be in the offing.
