Two key transfer updates concerning Premier League outfit Aston Villa have emerged on Sunday.

Aston Villa bid for Dundee United man

The first claims that Aston Villa have made a bid for a Dundee United youngster.

The player in question is Kerr Smith, who is a product of Dundee United’s academy.

Smith was handed his senior debut for Dundee last season and has since made another seven appearances this term.

Smith is a natural centre-back, but the 17-year-old is also capable of playing at right-back, which he has done twice in the 2021/22 campaign so far.

Now, journalist Pete O’Rourke is reporting that Aston Villa have made a bid for Smith.

It is not mentioned how much the bid actually was. But given the fact Smith is only 17 years of age and out of contract in 18 months, it is hard to see Dundee United being able to demand too much:

Though not mentioned, you would assume that should Aston Villa indeed land Smith, the teenager would spend more time with the under-23s than the senior side right now.
