A fresh insight into the stance of Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte when it comes to the potential sale of Tanguy Ndombele has been provided on Monday evening.

Spurs fans take aim

The name of French midfielder Ndombele has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines once more over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes owing to the one-time Olympique Lyonnais standout’s actions during Tottenham’s meeting with Morecambe on Sunday.

Antonio Conte’s troops welcomed League One outfit Morecambe to north London a little over 24 hours ago, eventually emerging on the right side of a 3-1 scoreline to book their spot in the 4th-round of the FA Cup.

It was not Spurs’ eventual comeback triumph itself, however, which in fact proved the headline talking point post-match.

Instead, this came in the form of the actions of the aforementioned Ndombele.

After seeing his number displayed on the 4th official’s board, indicating a substitution during the 2nd-half of action, the midfield enigma, despite his side having been a goal down at the time, strolled off the pitch as slowly as possible.

Ndombele’s lack of urgency, in turn, saw the atmosphere inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium quickly take a turn for the worse, as a chorus of boos rang out amongst the home crowd:

Conte comes to decision

It has therefore already been suggested that Ndombele may have seen out his final minutes on the pitch in Spurs’ colours, ahead of a swift exit from the club this month.

Reports across the media on Sunday evening, for one, assured that the 25-year-old himself has already come to the decision to seek out a fresh challenge over the 2nd half of the campaign.

And now, as alluded to above, an insight has been provided into the thoughts of his manager regarding such a prospect.

The info comes courtesy of Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, who has assured that Antonio Conte, initially, was confident that Ndomble would play a part in his plans in the middle of the park moving forward.

The furore surrounding his actions on Sunday, however, has now been decided upon as the final nail in the Frenchman’s Spurs coffin.

In turn, it is understood that Conte is very much open to the prospect of Ndombele moving on this winter, be it permanently or on a loan basis, to make room in his squad for fresh blood.
