Reports coming out of Italy have credited Arsenal with an interest in Eintracht Frankfurt star, Filip Kostic.

Who is Filip Kostic?

Filip Kostic is currently plying his trade in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt, who he signed for in July of 2019 from fellow German side, Hamburger SV.

Kostic has since gone on to feature on 149 occasions for Frankfurt. In said ties, the left-midfielder has notched a very respectable goal contribution return.

In 149 outings across all competitions, Kostic has scored 29 and assisted 58 for the Bundesliga side.

His solid for has continued in the current seaosn where he has scored three and assisted seven in 17 league outings.

Arsenal linked with Kostic

Now, as mentioned above, Arsenal are being credited with an interest in Kostic, who is now 29 years of age.

Calciomercato published a report covering Inter Milan’s interest in Kostic.

In it, the Italian outlet claimed that a number of clubs are ready to try and sign Kostic, but will not invest in him during the January window, instead waiting for the summer.

Amongst these clubs are Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, West Ham and Arsenal.

There is no potential fee mentioned in the report from Calciomercato. But given Kostic is 29 and will have just one year left on his current Eintracht Frankfurt contract in the summer, it is hard to see him setting any potential suitor back too much?

But should Arsenal sign Kostic?

The Gunners have a number of options that can operate at left-wing right now, with Gabriel Martinelli currently excelling in that role.

But if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Nicolas Pepe were to depart, it would likely leave Arsenal in need of finding another wide-man, especially if they get into Europe next season.

Could Kostic be a cheap, experienced option to provide cover for the Gunners’ current crop of young talent?
