Reports coming out of the Netherlands have credited Liverpool with an interest in Kenny Rocha Santos.

Who is Kenny Rocha Santos?

Kenny Rocha Santos is currently plying his trade in Belgium with KV Oostende.

Santos would move to Oostende in July of 2021, departing AS Nancy on a free transfer.

Santos had previously scored six and assisted nine in 66 outings for Nancy across all competitions

Since moving to Belgium, the 22-year-old has featured on 23 occasions for Oostende. In said games he has provided three assists.

Santos is a central midfielder by trade, but he can also play as an attacking mid, defensive mid and on the right side of midfield.

Santos has also featured on 11 occasions for Cape Verde, with his latest outings coming on January 9th in the African Cup of Nations as his side picked up a 1-0 win over Ethiopia.

Liverpool eyeing Kenny Rocha Santos

Now, as mentioned above, Santos is seemingly being tracked by Premier League giants, Liverpool.

According to teamTALK citing Dutch outlet Voetbal Flitsen, Liverpool have been scouting Santos and have subsequently been impressed by the midfielder.

It is added that the Reds are gearing up for January and summer transfer windows where they will invest in their squad, with midfield said to be a key area.

Given the ages of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago, it would make sense for Liverpool to begin planning for the future.

But is Santos the man to do that with? Jurgen Klopp’s side already have several young, promising central midfielders on their books in the form of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott.

So, with at least two of the three positions seemingly already sorted, would Liverpool not be better served bringing in a big name to replace someone like Fabinho in the future?
