Arsenal chase Vlahovic

Arsenal have, for the past week, been chasing hard for Dusan Vlahovic.

The Fiorentina marksman has bagged goals galore in the past 12 months, and has caught the attention of many major clubs.

Chief among them this January, however, are Arsenal.

The Gunners are aware that they are very light up front, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s absence leaving them with just Eddie Nketiah and Alex Lacazette, both of whom are out of contract in the summer.

And while Arsenal are doing all they can to bring the Serbian to north London, there remain issues to iron out.

Arsenal and Fiorentina stuck

Now, as per the latest from European journalist Miguel Delaney, there are issues over the fee, with the Italian side looking for 75 million pounds, mostly up front.

On the other hand:

“Arsenal want to pay what would be a club-record fee over four years, which they can afford even without the sale of former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.”

However, this has not gone down well in Italy, as:

“Fiorentina are reluctant to agree to do this, though, and Vlahovic and his camp are also conscious of the fact they will have more options in the summer when a release clause becomes active in his contract.”

Will Arsenal be able to iron out the issues, and convince Vlahovic to join them, or are they better off looking elsewhere?
