The joint-January transfer efforts of Premier League rivals Everton and Aston Villa have continued to bear fruit on Thursday evening.

Digne deal announced

The headlines news at Villa Park and Goodison Park alike over the course of the last 24 hours had of course come in the form of Lucas Digne’s move to the former.

On the back of a frustrating spell in the stands, owing to a falling out with boss Rafael Benitez, it was eventually decided that a move away from Merseyside would represent the best path forward for the French international.

Digne, in turn, opted to link up with Steven Gerrard’s aforementioned Aston Villa, joining Philippe Coutinho in the west Midlands amid an impressive winter recruitment drive on the part of the Claret and Blue.

The move was made official early this morning, with Villa understood to have forked out a fee of around £25 million to secure their latest defensive reinforcement.

El Ghazi arrives

As alluded to above, though, the business between the transfer teams at Villa and Everton has not ended with just Digne’s switch on Thursday.

This comes with both clubs having taken to social media a short time ago, to confirm yet another agreement.

The player on the move on this occasion? Anwar El Ghazi.

Amid a difficult campaign to date, culminating in just four Premier League starts, Dutchman El Ghazi has moved in the opposite direction to Digne, linking up with Rafael Benitez’s Toffees on loan for the remainder of the campaign:
