Newcastle look for more additions

Newcastle are looking to continue spending their way out of the relegation zone this January, after announcing the signing of Chris Wood on Thursday morning.

Chief among their targets is a new centre back, with Sevilla’s Diego Carlos seemingly the most likely option at present.

But there are other areas to be improved too, and one of those is central midfield, with Joe Willock struggling upon his return to Tyneside, and other options not really up to scratch.

And now, Newcastle have been offered a simple solution to their problems.

Van De Beek offered to Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund

As per the Manchester Evening News, Dutch midfielder Donny Van de Beek remains keen to depart Old Trafford this January, and has now been offered to both Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund.

And while he has struggled in England thus far, this is largely due to a lack of opportunities at Old Trafford. Should he be available on loan for Newcastle and Eddie Howe, it would seem a no-brainer, since it will not set them back too much and will add another quality option into the midfield ranks in the northeast.

For Van De Beek too, it would be a big move, with the midfielder keen to regain his Dutch national team place that he has lost since joining the Red Devils. This would surely give him added motivation to succeed at St James’ Park, providing another reason that Newcastle should pursue the move.
