Aston Villa vs Manchester United

Aston Villa and Manchester United are set to face off for the second time in the space of a week on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils face a trip to Villa Park for a 5:30 pm UK time Premier League kick-off.

Man United would see off Villa by one goal to nil in the FA Cup earlier this week and will be hoping for a similar result this time around, though perhaps a more dominant display would not be the worse thing for United.

Manchester United head into the weekend’s league action 7th in the table, but they can go level on points with 5th should they win their games in hand.

As for Aston Villa, they are down in 13th place and have now lost their last three outings across all competitions.

Ronaldo, Maguire & Sancho latest

Ahead of the Villa game, Ralf Rangnick spoke to the press on Friday afternoon.

One of the topics up for discussion was team news. Cristiano Ronaldo missed Manchester United’s FA Cup tie vs Villa last time out, as did Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho.

However, when speaking on Friday, the United boss suggested all three should be available:

“I think they will be available. They only trained yesterday for the first time. Cristiano yesterday, Harry the day before yesterday. We have to wait for the final session this afternoon but as it seems right now they should be available for tomorrow [Saturday].”

Rangnick was also asked about what has surprised him about the Premier League, to which he responded:

“I wouldn’t say it has surprised me. No winter break is what I expected.

“What surprised me a little is how physically and tactically astute the smaller teams in this league are. Against the bottom teams, it is never easy.”
