Harvey Elliott injured

Harvey Elliott was a regular feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side at the start of 2021/22, linking up well with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold down Liverpool’s right flank.

However, Elliott suffered an injury in gameweek four of the Premier League season that has ruled him out of action since.

Liverpool faced off with Leeds United in a Premier League clash in September.

Elliott would be handed his 3rd successive league start for the Reds after an impressive start to the season.

Unfortunately for the midfielder, he would pick up a nasty-looking injury at the hands of Leeds United’s Pascal Struijk.

Elliott, though, appears to be closing in on a return for Liverpool.

When speaking earlier this week, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claimed that Elliott was not too far away from a return to team training.

Given Naby Keita is away at the African Cup of Nations and Thiago has struggled for fitness of late, an Elliott return would be a big boost for Liverpool.

Now, Liverpool star Fabinho has been speaking about Elliott in a recent interview, in which he stated that the youngster is always working hard:

“We are really happy for him because we always see him in the training ground and in the dressing room, and he always has a smile on his face.

“So it is not an easy moment for him after his injury but he is always working hard and doing everything to be back in the best shape possible. So it will be really good to have him back. He is someone who can do good things for the team as well.

“Hopefully he will be back soon and helping us.”
