Manchester City vs Chelsea
Manchester City and Chelsea are currently locked in Premier League action at the Etihad.
Chelsea headed into the game knowing that a loss would be detrimental to their Premier League title hopes.
Man City, on the other hand, would remain top of the league with a loss. But it would also open up the possibility of Liverpool moving to within five points of them, should Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Brentford on Sunday and win their game in hand.
At present, it is Manchester City who have well and truly dominated the tie.
Romelu Lukaku did carve out a chance for himself early in the game when he stormed past John Stones. However, the Belgian wasted his opportunity by passing to an offside Hakim Ziyech.
Marcos Alonso targeted
Manchester City, meanwhile, have caused Chelsea all sorts of problems, especially down the Londoners’ left side.
Raheem Sterling has spent the opening half-hour of the game running rings around Marcos Alonso, with Malang Sarr often left to sweep up the Spaniard’s mess.
And now, after a dismal start vs City, Alonso has come in for heavy criticism online, with just some of the reaction shown below:
GET ALONSO OUT OF MY CLUB!

I’m sorry but even a 17-year old Lewis Hall would be a less liability than Alonso. Why on earth we haven’t signed a new LWB yet is beyond belief.

I’ve never seen a worse player than Marcos Alonso

You just need to jog past Alonso and he’ll go “ah well maybe next time”
