Eriksen’s ordeal

Christian Eriksen was at the centre of Euro 2020, as he collapsed on the pitch midway through Denmark’s opening group game. Thankfully, the medical staff were able to intervene and save his life, but he has not played since.

Due to the rules in the Serie A, the electrocardiogram that he was fitted with meant that he is unable to play for Inter Milan, where he was contracted, and thus he was subsequently released.

And now, it seems as though he could be coming back to the Premier League.

Suprise Premier League club make contact

Logically, it would be Tottenham, Eriksen’s former club, that made the first move for the Dane, with Antonio Conte having worked with him at Inter Milan too.

However, they have been unmoved, and instead a fellow London club have swooped in.

The side in question? Newly promoted Brentford.

As per the Athletic, the Bees are in talks with Eriksen, still only 29, over a six-month contract as they look to keep their good form in the English top-flight going.

They will also hold the option to extend the deal by a further year should the move materialise, while Eriksen himself would be offered a move back onto Europe’s biggest stage.

Would it make sense for all parties?
