Bissouma’s Brighton stint
Yves Bissouma has so far notched 111 appearances across all competitions for Graham Potter’s Brighton.
The 24-year-old is confident with the ball at his feet, and more than capable of picking it up from deep to either take players on, or pick out the right pass to a teammate. Bissouma is also a progressive passer who generally avoids the sideways option.
And, at the other end of the pitch, the midfielder’s work rate and stamina allow him to get back and help out defensively.
As part of the current Brighton system, Bissouma is generally fielded as the more defensive-minded central midfield option.
His long-time impressive form for a fairly average side, though, has inevitably begun to pique the interest of superior clubs.
Reports last year suggested that all of Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on the Malian, who is currently away at the African Cup of Nations.
Bissouma attracting Premier League interest
Now, a fresh set of clubs have been linked with the midfielder by French journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
Hawkins reports that Brighton have rebuffed a £30m offer for Bissouma, who will not move in January unless there is an exceptional offer.
It is added that all of Aston Villa, Newcastle and Arsenal are interested in Bissouma:
Yves #Bissouma, actuellement à la CAN, fait l’objet de plusieurs offres. Brighton a repoussé une proposition de 30 millions de livres sterling. Le Malien ne bougera pas cet hiver sauf offre exceptionnelle. Aston Villa, Newcastle et Arsenal sont intéressés.#mercato
