Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has this evening etched his name ever further into the history books of the Premier League.

De Bruyne’s head-turning feat, unsurprisingly, comes on the back the Belgian’s latest telling moment of creative brilliance.

City marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to Southampton with hopes high of a remarkable 13th successive triumph in the English top-flight.

When all was said and done, however, the Sky Blues were forced to make do with a share of the spoils, after Aymeric Laporte’s 2nd-half equaliser cancelled out an early opener on the part of Kyle Walker-Peters.

The aforementioned De Bruyne, unsurprisingly, teed up teammate Laporte’s eventual leveller, courtesy of a pinpoint set-piece delivery from the right flank.

And, in the process, the Belgian climbed ever-further up the list of all-time Premier League assist leaders, joining Manchester United legend David Beckham in 9th with a tally of 80:

Door opened for Liverpool?

Man City’s first dropped points since late October mean that the Citizens now sit 12 points clear of 2nd-placed Liverpool at the summit of the Premier League table.

Should Jurgen Klopp’s men secure victories in both of their games in hand, though, they will cut this gap to just six points.

Could the Reds yet breathe fresh life into what was so recently declared a one-horse race for the title in the English top-flight?
