Ralf Rangnick has made a rather big claim about Diogo Dalot recently.

Since Rangnick took over, Dalot has seen his game time dramatically improved.

The Portuguese would notch just 89 minutes of Premier League action whilst Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was at the helm this term.

Under Rangnick though, Dalot has become a regular feature, only missing out on one league match so far.

Now, in a recent interview, Rangnick suggested that Dalot is, offensively, one of the best full-backs Manchester United could have: “I think, before until two or three months ago, he hasn’t had that much game-time because, on most occasions, Aaron was playing in that position.

“Right now, he’s getting a lot of game-time and we all know of all those offensive tools he has.

“He’s offensively one of the best full-backs we could have. He still has space for improvement in his defensive actions, one-on-one duels, anticipating and closing the gaps between himself and his teammates. There is still space for improvement but he’s still a player who can develop and learn. So far, in the last couple of games, he did well and I was happy with his performances.”

What’s next for Aaron Wan-Bissaka?

Before Dalot’s emergence under Rangnick, Aaron Wan-Bissaka was, of course, Manchester United’s main right-back.

However, the Englishman has since seen his game time fall of a cliff.

Perhaps more concerningly, it has been reported that Rangnick delivered a presentation to United chiefs earlier this month, where he told them that Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Wan-Bissaka were not good enough to be playing for the club, with the German insisting that all three of them need replacing.

It will be interesting to see how Wan-Bissaka handles losing his spot in the side, especially now we are in a World Cup year.
