Newcastle may be about to be dealt yet another transfer blow as Inter Milan are ready to rival the Magpies for Atalanta defender Robin Gosens.

Eddie Howe and co. have shown interest in the German wing-back for much of the transfer window, much like Diego Carlos, but may be set to miss out on both players after Tottenham reinforced their interest in the Sevilla man.

Now, Inter are ready to “insist” that they add Gosens to their own ranks, with the Serie A table-toppers surely a more enticing proposition than a relegation battle, even if the money is significantly different.

Newcastle remain on the lookout for a left-back, and Gosens fits the bill while also seemingly being available. However, a deal now looks difficult for the Magpies.

What about other deals?

Newcastle remain “pushing” to complete a loan move for Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard.

However, a deal for Bayer Leverkusen defender Mitchell Bakker is now seemingly unlikely.

Meanwhile, interest in Arsenal’s Bernd Leno still relies on Arsenal signing a new shot-stopper, a move that the Gunners are progressing with but that is not yet finalised.

For the final week of the transfer window, Newcastle fans may want to hold onto their hats as the plates continue to spin.
