An insight into Xavi Hernandez’s transfer plans has been provided from Spain recently.

Barcelona’s only major transfer on the winter window so far has been bringing in Ferran Torres from Manchester City.

A solid signing yes, but there is still clearly more work to be done. One man who looks to agree with this is Xavi.

As per Spanish outlet Marca, Xavi’s priority is for Barcelona to beef up their attack by signing a striker or a winger, but the Blaugrana boss also believes that the full-back positions could do with being strengthened.

It is added that Xavi has set his sights on Borussia Dortmund right-back Thomas Meunier, with Barcelona already making contact with the German club about bringing him in before the end of the January transfer window.

The move would be a loan until the end of the seaosn, which makes sense given Barca’s current financial situation.

Meunier, for this part, is also said to be open to the idea of joining Barcelona.

The Belgian has featured 24 times for BVB this term, scoring two and assisting five along the way.

Barcelona closing in on Wolves’ Adama Traore

Elsewhere on the Barcelona front, it has been reported that Adama Traore is set to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of a move to Barcelona.

Said move would be a loan until the summer with an option to buy for around €35m:

Traore is, of course, a product of Barca’s youth academy, but left the club in 2015 for Aston Villa
