Wolves appear to have set a price-tag for Ruben Neves, a man who has been linked with two Premier League powerhouses this month.

Firstly, it was reported towards the beginning of the month that Manchester United were determined to sign Neves after he impressed in Wolves’ 1-0 win over United.

More recently, it has been suggested that Arsenal are considering a late Neves transfer this month.

Now, both sides have been told how much it would cost to land the Portuguese star.

The Sun report that Wolves are confident of staving off Ruben Neves transfer interest from Manchester United and Arsenal as they have set £40m asking price for the midfielder.

It is added that Man United hoped a bid of around £35m would be enough to lure Neves to Old Trafford, but that is yet to materialise.

Should Manchester United or Arsenal sign Ruben Neves?

Both Manchester United and Arsenal could do with a new central midfielder through the door as soon as possible.

Manchester United are in desperate need of a solid defensive midfield option, but making a big signing such as Neves without knowing who your permanent manager will be could easily backfire.

There is no reason United could not splash £40m on the 24-year-old this month, before appointing a new manager in the summer who does not like Neves.

As for Arsenal, they are seemingly very eager to sign a central midfielder this month.

A move for Juventus’ Arthur is reported to be on the brink of collapse, whilst Arsenal were also showing interest in Douglas Luiz, but Aston Villa now want to open talks with the Brazilian over a new contract.

So, given the struggles they have had elsewhere, perhaps Arsenal should look to sign Neves before the window shuts on Monday.
