Word stemming from the English media on Saturday suggests that Crystal Palace have seen a proposal for Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah knocked back by their capital rivals.

The info comes courtesy of Sky Sports, who hint that an approach to sign Nketiah on a permanent basis was met with a firm ‘no’ on the part of the transfer team at the Emirates.

This comes despite the young hitman having less than six months to run on his current Gunners contract.

Palace’s offer marks the club’s 2nd for Nketiah this month, after the Eagles first made their interest in his signature known during the summer transfer window in 2021.

As things stand, however, Patrick Vieira and co. look set to be forced to look elsewhere amid the club’s pursuit of reinforcements up top.

Isak spotted

Interestingly, word of Palace’s latest move for Nketiah comes on the same day that Arsenal have too seen speculation surrounding their efforts to add fresh blood to the club’s frontline come back to the fore.

This comes after a long-time rumoured target on the part of the Gunners – in the form of Alexander Isak – was spotted in London just days before the January window is primed to slam shut.

Of course, Isak’s presence in the English capital in and of itself means little, but that has not stopped many of an Arsenal persuasion from getting their hopes up regarding a potential deal for the Swedish international coming to fruition before Monday’s transfer deadline.
