Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion have, on Monday evening, confirmed the club’s 2nd capture of the January transfer window.

The player to have committed to terms with Graham Potter’s men? Deniz Undav.

Those of a Seagulls persuasion will of course be familiar with the name of hitman Undav, on the back of mounting links over the course of the last 48 hours that their side were expressing a keen interest in his signature.

This comes with the German having enjoyed a stellar campaign to date, racking up 18 goals and 9 assists across 25 league appearances, to guide Union St. Gilloise to a surprise berth atop the Belgian Jupiler League table.

The board at the Amex, in turn, evidently identified Undav as the kind of player capable of arresting the club’s woes in the final third.

Unfortunately for the club’s fanbase, however, they will in fact not be treated to a first glimpse of their side’s latest addition until the early weeks of next season.

This comes with Undav having committed to a deal on the English south coast through 2026, but set to remain on loan in Belgium for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.

Union link grows

Undav actually represents the 2nd player to have joined Brighton this month, only to be swiftly shipped back out on loan.

This comes with the seasiders having also landed Polish midfield sensation Kacper Kozłowski early in January, before sanctioning a loan move to Belgium, where the 18-year-old is set to link up with soon-to-be Seagulls teammate Undav at Union SG.
