An insight into how Donny van de Beek was viewed by his fellow Manchester United stars has been provided recently.

After six months on the sidelines, Donny van de Beek would be granted a loan move to Everton on deadline day.

The Dutchman, now on Merseyside for the rest of the season, joined Dele Alli as Frank Lampard’s first two signings as Everton manager.

Now, after a switch to Goodison Park, the Express, citing the Guardian, have revealed how Manchester United players viewed the Dutchman.

And despite being unable to win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Ralf Rangnick, it is claimed Manchester United players believed Donny van de Beek’s training performances warranted more minutes prior to his move to Everton, and, unlike Daniel James, United squad members thought the former Ajax star was a good trainer and warranted a chance to prove his worth.

Donny van de Beek’s Manchester United stint

Donny van de Beek signed for Man United during the delayed summer window last year. He had spent his previous years impressing with Ajax.

However, despite the midfielder being signed under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s watch, the Norwegian refused to hand the 24-year-old any sort of regular game-time throughout 2020/21.

Van de Beek made 19 Premier League appearances, but just three of those saw him complete 90 minutes – two of which came right at the end of the campaign when United had nothing left to play for.

Despite his limited minutes, Van de Beek would remain at Old Trafford during the summer transfer window and went on to notch just 68 minutes of league action for the Manchester outfit before his switch to Everton.
