Footage of Arsenal star Nicolas Pepe finding the net in spectacular fashion during a training session with the club this week has piqued the attentions of the Gunners faithful.

The video in question highlights the efforts of Mikel Arteta’s squad whilst on a warm weather training camp in Dubai.

Pepe, fresh off the back of an impressive albeit ultimately fruitless individual effort at the Africa Cup of Nations over the last few weeks, linked back up with his club teammates late in January.

And, after finding the net against both Sierra Leone and Algeria, the gifted wide-man was quick to provide a reminder of his goalscoring talents to Mikel Arteta, too.

Picked out on the right side of the penalty area, Pepe cut inside onto his trusty left foot, before picking out the far top corner in sumptuous fashion courtesy of an unstoppable strike:

Wolves test

Such endeavours will no doubt see Pepe hopeful of securing a starting berth for himself a week from today, when Arsenal are primed to return to the pitch on the back of a break stemming nearly three weeks.

Whilst the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool line out in the FA Cup this weekend, the Gunners will of course be left to watch on from home, after being ousted from the competition at the first hurdle by Nottingham Forest.

Instead, Arsenal’s first outing in February comes in the form of a meeting with high-flying Wolves next Thursday night.

The north Londoners are set to make the trip to Molineux in the knowledge that they cannot really afford another slip-up, or risk being both leapfrogged by their upcoming hosts in the Premier League table, and slipping further off the pace of the top-4.
