A Premier League table that shows were each side would currently be without the use of VAR has been provided on Friday.

Whether we like it or not, VAR is now a key part of the Premier League game. And though the technology and those who operate it can often catch the ire of many a fan, it looks set to be here for the foreseeable future.

But what if it wasn’t? What if VAR did not exist, how would the table look then?

Well, ESPN have answered that question for Premier League fans.

At the top of the table, things largely stay the same with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea still the top three sides in the division.

Arsenal better off without VAR

However, the table looks a lot more interesting when you look at the teams below the current top three.

At present, Manchester United are 4th, West Ham 5th and Arsenal 6th. But if the Premier League did not have VAR, Arsenal would be 4th, United 5th and the Hammers down in 6th.

The table is then the same from 7th to 10th, but there is a rather big jump in 11th place.

Frank Lampard’s Everton are 16th in the Premier League with 19 points right now, but would be up to 11th with 25 points without the use of VAR.

The full VARless Premier League table can be seen below, whilst an explanation for how ESPN worked out the table is here.
