Manchester United star David de Gea has taken to social media on Friday night, to send a simple message to his Red Devils teammates.

Ralf Rangnick’s troops are of course locked in action at present.

On the back of a two-week break, United have kicked their campaign back into gear courtesy of an FA Cup 4th-round showdown with Chris Wilder’s Middlesbrough.

The aforementioned de Gea, unsurprisingly, was afforded the night off, with backup Dean Henderson instead in from the off between the posts at Old Trafford.

As alluded to above, though, United’s no.1 was nevertheless quick to send a message of support to his teammates amid the early going, taking to his official Twitter account to post a simple three-word message:

Sancho goes close

As things stand in the early exchanges in Manchester, the scoreline remains locked at 0-0.

This, however, has not come owing to a lack of trying on the part of the evening’s hosts, who went close not once but twice inside the opening five minutes, when Jadon Sancho’s gorgeous dinked effort was followed up by Bruno Fernandes lashing high and wide on the rebound:

Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, too looks in the mood, having seen a spectacular overhead kick kept out by Middlesbrough’s Joe Lumley early on.
