Jurgen Klopp would hold his latest pre-match press conference on Friday morning.

In the press conference, the Liverpool boss would discuss a number of topics.

Firstly, the German confirmed that Liverpool are still interested in Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho following a failed attempt to land the Portuguese in January: “I don’t know. We are still interested- it would be crazy if we were not.

“It was late before the window closed so it didn’t work out so we will see what happens.”

One player Liverpool did sign in January was Luis Diaz from FC Porto, and Klopp had this to say on the winger on Friday: “It’s a really exciting signing – and a good sign that we always want to improve this team. We have to be successful now and in the future, and that is the aim.

“He is an exceptional player, he has the speed, he has the skills and he has the character to have a special career.”

Harvey Elliott to return for Liverpool

Elsewhere, Jurgen Klopp spoke about Harvey Elliott, who has been out since early in the season following an injury picked up vs Leeds.

The youngster returned for Liverpool’s under-23s recently and now, as per Klopp, will be in the squad to face Cardiff this weekend: “Harvey did everything we told him without question.

“He’s in a good place. Full team training. We will see what’s right for him. But he will be in the squad for the Cardiff game.”
