West Ham boss David Moyes has provided an update on Michail Antonio ahead of his side’s latest clash.

The Hammers are back in action on Saturday, but their star, and only real striker, will be cutting it a little close when it comes to being back and prepared in time.

This comes with Antonio having being away on international duty with Jamaica during the break. Jamaica would take on Costa Rica on Thursday, losing the tie 1-0, meaning they have now won just one of their 11 World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

And, according to Moyes, Antonio will only arrive back in London on Friday morning after playing on Thursday.

“Michail will arrive from Jamaica today,” Moyes said. “I think the biggest problem is that the scheduling for the games is really tough.

“If you’re a club playing their wages, it’s hardly correct you get a player back on a Friday AM to play at 12.30pm Saturday.”

Kidderminster vs West Ham

If Antonio does not recover in time, however, it should not be too much of an issue for West Ham this weekend.

They are facing Kidderminster in the FA Cup 4th round at 12:30 pm UK time on Saturday.
