Jurgen Klopp has revealed when he expects Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to return to the club.

The pair are, of course, both currently away on international duty at the African Cup of Nations and are now set to face off in the final this weekend.

To reach the final, Egypt took Cameron to penalties before winning the shootout 3-1. Senegal, meanwhile, beat Burkina Faso by three goals to one in their semi-final.

Now, with the final taking place on February 6th, Klopp is expecting both players to be available vs Leicester next Thursday, though the winner of the AFCON is likely to arrive back in Liverpool later:

“I think they will be available for (the game v Leicester) Thursday,” Klopp said. “Whichever one wins will probably fly back to their home country (for a parade). Whoever wins will be back here Tuesday or Wednesday.”

Liverpool team news

Elsewhere, Jurgen Klopp provided an update on some more of Liverpool’s first-team players ahead of their meeting with Cardiff this weekend.

Thiago, as per Klopp, had a chest infection recently, but should be back training on Friday, whilst Naby Keita should be fine and Divock Origi returned to full training on Thursday: “Thiago trained with us, unfortunately he has a little chest infection so had to step aside again.

“I expect him to be in training again today. We will see how he can use him for Sunday. Naby is fine, Divock yesterday full team training for first time.”
