Everton manager Frank Lampard has provided updates on the wellbeing of two important members of his squad, on the back of the club’s meeting with Brentford.

First up comes Ben Godfrey.

Stopper Godfrey was forced to limp out of proceedings early in the action at Goodison Park on Saturday, after picking up what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

And Lampard has confirmed that the 24-year-old, who currently stands as the only real backup to Vitaliy Mykolenko at left-back, looks set for a spell on the sidelines:

The newly-appointed Toffees boss then provided an insight into the fitness of star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

DCL was absent from Everton’s squad once more this afternoon, amid the continued injury struggles which have plagued the English international to this point in the campaign.

Lampard, though, is hopeful that Calvert-Lewin will be fit and available for selection next time out, when the Merseysiders are primed to take on fellow Premier League relegation candidates Newcastle United:

Richarlison amongst the goals

Fresh defensive injury concerns aside, Lampard’s debut outing on the Everton bench could not have gone much better on Saturday.

The Toffees looked reinvigorated from the off, pinning Thomas Frank’s Brentford back to ultimately emerge on the right side of a dominant 4-1 scoreline.

Yerry Mina got the Lampard era on Merseyside up and running, before all of Richarlison, Mason Holgate and Andros Townsend found the net, too, to keep the club’s FA Cup adventure very much alive.
