A pair of developments during Everton’s meeting with Brentford on Saturday afternoon will no doubt bring a collective smile to the faces of those behind the scenes on the blue half of Merseyside.

First up came the rousing reception of the club’s fanbase to the latest pair of additions to their squad.

With 45 minutes on the clock at Goodison Park on Saturday, midfielders Donny van de Beek and Dele Alli emerged from the tunnel, to introduce themselves to the Toffees faithful.

And the majority of those in attendance, in turn, rose to their feet, to applaud two players no doubt set to play a key role in the club’s efforts to work their way up the Premier League table over the 2nd half of the campaign:

‘Super Frankie Lampard’

Turning attentions towards those actually lining out for the club this afternoon, Everton’s stars have thus far provided a solid account of themselves to new boss Frank Lampard.

This comes with the Blues leading Brentford by three goals to one, owing to strikes on the part of all of Yerry Mina, Richarlison and Mason Holgate.

With positive results having of course proven few and far between over the latter months of Rafael Benitez’s dismal spell in charge at Goodison Park, the Everton faithful, in turn, were quick to make their appreciation for the latest instillation on the club’s bench known.

Chants of ‘Super Frankie Lampard’ were heard ringing around Goodison, amid positive early signs when it comes to the Toffees’ prospects under Lampard’s guidance:
